The movie Solo Leveling: Beyond the System has been announced

After months of speculation about the franchise's future, Crunchyroll and Aniplex confirmed at Anime Expo 2026 that the next chapter in the Solo Leveling universe will be a feature film titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System. A first teaser was released along with the announcement, and production is already underway.

Based on the information provided so far, the movie will not tell a separate story, but will pick up directly where the narrative left off at the end of season two. In other words, we’ll see Sung Jinwoo again in a new phase of his adventure, before the anime series returns with a new season.

I have to admit that the news made me very happy. I don't consider myself a big anime fan, but Solo Leveling is one of the few titles that has really hooked me. I binge-watched the first two seasons, and honestly, I can’t wait to see how Sung Jinwoo’s adventure continues.

And while we’re on the subject of sequels, there’s more good news for fans of the series. According to information published by D&C Media, the company that owns the rights to the franchise, Season 3 is already in production. Unfortunately, there is no official release date yet; neither Crunchyroll nor A-1 Pictures has made an announcement to that effect. However, based on estimates and discussions within the community, it’s unlikely that the new season will arrive before 2027.

Given the success that Solo Leveling has enjoyed in recent years, the decision to continue the story with a movie is only natural. The anime adaptation quickly became one of the most-watched titles on Crunchyroll, and Sung Jinwoo’s popularity has long since extended beyond the anime fan community (myself included). That’s exactly why expectations for Beyond the System are very high, and fans are hoping the movie will manage to maintain the same level of animation, action, and intensity that made the first two seasons a true phenomenon.

At the moment, the movie Beyond the System doesn’t have an official release date either, but it’s clear that the Solo Leveling universe is far from over. With a movie confirmed and Season 3 already in production, the franchise’s future looks brighter than ever. All that’s left is to be patient and hope that both the movie and the new season will manage to maintain the high standard of quality the series has set for us so far.
