While the first half of 2026 has already brought us several major releases, the coming months promise to be even more spectacular. We have sequels to legendary franchises, brand-new games, and, of course, the most anticipated title of the last decade. The list below is entirely subjective and reflects the games I’m most looking forward to by the end of the year.

Star Wars Zero Company is one of the most interesting new projects in the Star Wars universe. Unlike the action games the series has given us in recent years, this one focuses on strategy and tactical decisions. I’m curious to see how the Star Wars universe will be adapted to this kind of gameplay, and I think it has the potential to be one of the surprises of the year.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is one of the most exciting new projects in the Marvel universe. Developed by Arc System Works, the studio behind the Guilty Gear series, the game promises spectacular anime-style battles and a roster featuring some of the most well-known Marvel characters. I’m not the biggest fan of fighting games, but the art style and quality for which Arc System Works is known made me include it in this list without hesitation.
Release dateSeptember 3, 2026Platforms- PlayStation 5

Developed by Rebel Wolves, the studio founded by former developers of The Witcher series, *The Blood of Dawnwalker* promises a mature, dark RPG full of important choices. The mere fact that the people behind the game worked on The Witcher 3 is enough to pique my interest.
Release dateSeptember 15, 2026Platforms- PlayStation 5
After the success of the Marvel's Spider-Man series, I have almost blind faith in Insomniac Games. Wolverine is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe, and if the studio manages to deliver the same quality of gameplay and storytelling, we’re likely to see one of the best PlayStation exclusives in recent years.

I don't think it needs much of an introduction. Grand Theft Auto VI is, without a doubt, the game I'm most looking forward to—not just in 2026, but in my entire life as a gamer. Rockstar Games has a habit of raising the bar for the industry with every major release, and all the material released so far leads me to believe that GTA VI will once again redefine the concept of an open-world game.
